Brian Henke

Bio

IPMA Best Male Artist winner both in 2019 and again in 2020, Brian Henke composes and performs his music like a painter putting images on canvas, a kind of sonic shaman, drawing his inspiration from the world around him. His unique guitar style has been called everything from Folk to New Age to Neo-Classical to Pastoral or as Brian likes to call it “a big stewpot of everything, stirred up, simmered and served to taste.” Brian has just released his latest vocal CD "To the Faire"....2 more albums are written and partially recorded. He has also released seven instrumental solo guitar and harp guitar albums, two celebrated compilation albums, One group CD, and three previous vocal albums and....is working on a musical play with writer and playwright Byron Ballard. Throughout all of his music is an undercurrent of spirituality and mysticism that Brian says is very much a part of the creative process. Because of this he has received radio air play all over the world on shows as varied as WKSU’s “Folk Alley” and John Dilberto’s “Echoes.” A winner of many acoustic and electric guitar awards, he has also been a finalist in the prestigious National Fingerstyle Contest in Winfield, Kansas, the National Guitarmageddon regional finals in Boston and in New Age Reporters Top 10 for 2006 and 2010. “Brian’s fretwork is masterful, elaborate and he makes every note count…His compositions are harmonious, sometimes complicated, but always engaging…Brian Henke’s music is organic, mesmerizing and best of all magic.” – RJ Lannon - New Age Reporter  Dance with the Fireflies, the album, is fae-magickal throughout its 12 tracks, and it’s easy to discern Henke’s most prominent spell-casting tool: his stunning virtuosity on acoustic guitar, harp guitar, and his Gibson Les Paul. Henke is an awe-inspiring picker whose genre is known as “fingerstyle guitar,” and he’s in the same league with such giants as Alex de Grassi, Will Ackerman, Leo Kottke, and those guys. - Rick De Yampert - Wild Hunt

The Workshops

Music, Magic, Love, Nature and Everything A workshop by Brian Henke
Music, magic, love nature are all connected to everything. You don’t need to be a musician to make music. You don’t need to be a master musician to express and celebrate love and nature with music and you do not need to be a musician to make magic with music. Music IS magic! Bring you drums, voices and instruments of all kinds and we’ll make music and magic together.

Magical Musical Composition and Songwriting
Many of you are accomplished witches. You can cast a spell either that you picked from a book, the internet or that you made up yourself. What we composers/songwriters/singers and musicians do is magic too. Whether we know it or not. It’s all about vibrations and intent. Whatever musical abilities you have or don’t have (or don’t THINK you have) if you want to know more about making magic with music then this is the workshop for you!
Lord Azrael Ravens-Wolf

BIO

Brightest Blessings, My name is Lord Azrael Ravens-Wolf, and I along with my partner Lord Lucien are the High Priests of The Temple of the Black Cauldron. I first started out my spiritual path going to Church with my Grandmother, while in church I always found myself taking on roles including teaching VBS, teaching the 3rd grade Sunday School Classes, and also being involved as one of the youngest Deacons of my Church. As I grew up and began to come into self realization I found that I could no longer grow in a community that did not accept me as a gay man. At around the age of 15 I started to withdraw from my Christian upbringing and just kind of remained in limbo for a while until I turned 18. Once I had turned 18 I found myself working a job as a Security Officer. One night at one of my posts I became drawn to an officer that worked for a different company. And the energy from this person kept calling to me. I finally walked up to her and we began to talk. She commented on how strong of a presence and my energy was, and asked me if I had ever looked into Witchcraft. The funny part of it was I had actually looked into it a little, but never went to deep into it. Over the coming months she introduced me to several aspects of being a Witch. After meeting this person I found a teacher and began learning from them. After a while and after realizing that the relationship with my teacher was not a healthy one I went more on a solitary path, but still wanted to continue my education. That is where I found an online academy called the Firefly Academy. After working through their program and being involved in writing two courses and also completing their clergy program though sadly the school closed down. But before that happened I took on the roll of starting a MeetUp supported by the Academy. The group was called Magickal Paths of Chattanooga. Our goal was to organize classes and even events for the pagan community which was located in Chattanooga, Tn. Sadly as with all things MPOC came to an end, partly because of my lack of experience, and also because the time was not right for us to be in existence. Though I fought tooth and nail to keep it from falling apart, and still was even able to plan and organize events I became withdrawn and soon depressed. My desire and love of organizing left me, and I stopped organizing events in around 2017. Then wham! The big old C thing hit! Suddenly I was bombarded by my Deities going you have been missing in action for to long. Now mind you during this time I was also dealing with a divorce from someone I had been with for almost 4 years, and I was in no mental state in my opinion to do this, but you know the Goddess has her own plans. Suddenly I found myself newly single, and dealing with depression worse than I had ever experience before. But the Goddess had a plan to take care of that. And to also give me the support I needed in order to organize events once again. During all of this the Goddess sent me someone whom I had always needed in my life, an actual partner. Someone who supported me and wanted to see my goals come to reality. Lucien. As our relationship blossomed so did my desire to organize events, and my confidence in myself grew thanks to his words of encouragement. That is when we started to plan and organize CauldronFest. Over two years with a small group of other people and friends we began the process of planning what actually ended up being in my opinion a great event. And during this whole time my zest for life was reborn. Then suddenly the calling to rekindle my Clergy side and the roll as a High Priest came. And that is where we are at now. With yet again the support of my loving Husband we have chosen to start a new venture and bring to life the Temple of the Black Cauldron. We invite you to join us in this journey and we hope you will help us to grow and honor the God and Goddess!

Eric Olson

BIO

Everyone has rhythm, but not everyone knows how to fully explore these abilities or even where to begin. I am here to help. My name is Eric Olson, Rhythm Healer. I have been around rhythm my entire life, both as a professional musician who recorded several albums, and as a certified energy worker. I know how to work with people by tapping into that innate rhythm and weaving it into something else entirely. The voice of the drum is where it all begins. By combining my Reiki knowledge with my lifelong knowledge of drumming, I am here to help you with healing, expanding your consciousness, and co-creating a joyful experience. Although I play many types of drums, my specialty is the West African djembe. Just ask my happy clients! Are you ready? What’s YOUR Rhythm?

The Workshops

What's a Drum Circle Anyway?
A Drum Circle can be an intimidating experience for people who feel they can't express themselves on a drum or other percussive instrument. Here's something everyone should know: you CAN be a part of that experience. A Drum Circle has a place for everyone at all skill levels. In this workshop, you will learn how to listen for other players, simple etiquette to use, very simple rhythmic patterns that can fit in anywhere, and be able to fully express yourself on your drum. This is a fun, energetic, and interactive workshop for all skill levels.

Intentional Drumming
What happens when you hit a drum? When you play a single beat, the vibration of sound washes outward like ripples in a pond. But the waves aren't linear as they would be on the surface of the water. Instead, the vibrations create a perfect sphere encasing the drum, the player, and the world immediately surrounding them. As the waves of vibration from that one beat pass through you, your heart beats in response. But it's only one beat. Your cells, already vibrating with energy, respond to the call of the drum. But it's only one beat. What can you do with that energy that you just created? Explore the possibilities in this interactive experience.
Talbin MacGillivray/Braigheach

In the early 2000s, he completed training and was ordained by Nature Spirit Community, a Pagan/Wiccan church based out of Knoxville. It is home to the Appalachian Order of Modern Druidry and is responsible for the religious and educational elements provided by Pagan Pride of East Tennessee to our community. Basic Sigil Construction
Objective: By the end of the workshop, learners will be familiar with the process and have created a simple sigil talisman. Participants will be introduced to basic sigil design using the Witch's Wheel and Magic Squares methods. Learners will have the opportunity to practice with both methods and to develop a personal sigil in class, inscribe it, and have a charged talisman to take with them. Methods/rituals for using and activating the sigil will also be covered and a short sigil activation exercise will be included if time allows. Learners will be encouraged to be interactive throughout the workshop, engage with the hands-on activities, and to ask questions. All materials will be provided at no cost to participants. This class is geared towards magical practitioners who are unfamiliar with sigil creation or use.

For hundreds of years, there have been reports of encounters with strange and unusual creatures. Theories on their origins and the true nature of these beings are incredibly diverse. After opening with a short recounting of a cryptid encounter story, we will collaboratively explore as many of these creatures as time will allow. Participants will have the opportunity throughout the facilitated discussion to share their knowledge and experiences with the group. All printed materials will be provided to participants at no cost and include a list of 50 cryptids and descriptions. The Workshops

Reclaiming the Witch
Reclaiming the Witch is learning how to access wisdom from all things. The elements, spirit allies, working with the cycles of nature and how creating your own magical ritual practice will grant you access to the unseen worlds. The details of the class will beyond just the basics of opening or creating sacred space to do your workings but will go one step further to learn how to clear and release the blocks that stop you for creating the vibrational match to what you are creating. We will also dive deep into old belief systems and how to shed these layers. Reclaiming the Witch is reclaiming your own personal power to build life on your terms with practical tools and an understanding that we choose our reality and choosing the word Witch will change that reality. Both spiritually and on the human plane, regardless if you only claim it in your mind or publicly. As a living example of what it means to be both a woman and witch, healer and seer, warrior and professional, its possible to live with one foot in both worlds. We’ll cover why its important to not only access high states of consciousness (altered states) while conducting rituals or spells, but also the importance of bringing into the practical human experience. Regardless of your path or tradition, understanding how energy is our greatest tool, regardless of what other external tools you use, energy is within us and all things. Learning how to master that is Witch-work.

Dark Goddess Rising (or Shadow Walkers)
As a Shadow Walker, I embrace the dark. Whether the term Dark Goddess or Shadow Walker call to you, we all have shadows that exist. Learning how to incorporate them into our whole being is the key to unlocking the golden truth of your soul. I will teach on how and what shadows mean and how to know what yours are. There are many gods/goddesses that will support you in going into the uncomfortable places. We’ll call them in and explore how the energy of the Dark Mother is one of the most fierce and loving practices to bring into your rituals. We will discuss hands on, practical ways of finding the darkness within, embracing it, welcoming it and then identifying if it is creating a leak in your energy field or creating a match to other dark entities. Once we have the self-awareness of our shadows, we will go through several rituals and practices to move them, seal up our energy and understand how it impacts our path. I will share my work as a Shadow Walker (which many are also yet do not realize this is also them) and the stories of how as a warrior that I will go with you into the dark places to shine light on what cannot be seen. Attendees will experience a “shamanic” style journey to create a safe place to go and explore what lays beneath the layers and find the barriers, the fear, the reasons behind what keeps part of us shielded.
